Duncan's 9th birthday

The day began with the birthday boy, and king for the day, unwrapping his birthday present; a Hornby train set with a Percy engine. Later his dad and I took him to the playground. He had a go on the play train, helping push it around on the turntable. He decided to have a dip in the paddling pool, being the only child willing to face the chill. Last thing after dinner, he sang the birthday song to himself, blew out his candles and we all had a slice or two of chocolate cake. It was a good birthday.

Happy happy birthday! Wishing Duncan many more trains, and definitely more chocolate cake.

I wish they had trains like that when I was little.

Happy Birthday Duncan! Is there any cake left?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. He's accepted his new age very well this year!

Naomi, the train is part of the attractions of a fun park in the little seaside town. It's cute but usually pricey, but thankfully Duncan is usually content with just one ride. This time however the driver was locking up and let us all on for free, bonus!

Duncan.

I am sorry we are late to wish your wonderful son a happy birthday but I can see that you have a wonderful family...

If we ever come back to visit the UK we MUST pop over to your seaside town... Sulaiman and Omar just didn't want to get off the train ride round Disneyland.

Dave.
